Our Mission

To put leaseholders back in the driving seat of their own buildings with independent advice, transparent pricing and the tools they need to make confident, informed decisions.

Our Story

We Started Because We Were Leaseholders Too.

Save My Service Charge began as a private spreadsheet between two RMC directors trying to work out whether they were being charged a fair price for the management of their own block. The more they dug, the clearer the pattern became, opaque pricing, undisclosed commissions and very little independent advice for leaseholders.

Word spread. Neighbouring blocks asked for help. Then directors elsewhere in the country. We built SMSC so that anyone, not just well-resourced buildings could run the same kind of structured comparison, in plain English, for free.

Today we support directors and leaseholders across the UK with three things: comparing managing agents, exercising the Right to Manage, and reviewing block insurance.

How We Got Here

A Short Timeline

From a spreadsheet between two directors to a national platform -

2020

A Frustration, a Founding

Our founders were RMC directors, frustrated by opaque service charges and no independent guidance. So they built it themselves.

2021

The Platform Goes Live

We launched the first version of SMSC, turning a hands-on service into a repeatable process. More blocks, supported properly.

2022

Leaseholders Meet in London

Our first London leasehold event brought residents, professionals and partners into one room. The conversation the sector needed had begun.

2023

13 Blocks, 525 Homes

Our first major tender covered 13 blocks and 525 apartments. Proof that structured comparison works at scale.

2024

100 Agents, One Network

Our 100th managing agent joined the platform. A regional idea had become a national network.

2025

The Right Insurance Partner

After a two-year search, we finalised our insurance partnership. Benchmarked cover leaseholders could finally trust.

2026

A National Network

Over 1,000 UK blocks now use SMSC to compare agents, exercise RTM rights and benchmark insurance. Free, in plain English.

Managing agents pay us directly for winning your business, and our Right to Manage service has a fixed published fee of £144 per participating leaseholder.
